The comic was branded “racist” by his stunned followers, who accused the Little Britain star of “yellow-face” and seemingly altering his eyelids to look like the North Korean dictator.
Posing in a black suit, wig, and apparent prosthetics, David simply tweeted: “Happy Halloween from Kim Jong-un.”, with fans hitting back almost immediately:
And this is why I'm never buying any of his books. David Walliams was and still is a racist. pic.twitter.com/gHM3xerz9p

Matt Lucas apologised for the racism in your past shows this year… you do this? Yellowface is never alright!

David defiantly ignored the backlash, going on to post more pictures of himself in the costume alongside other famous faces – including John Bishop, Alan Carr, and Jonathan Ross – who was hosting his annual Halloween party.
The move comes shortly after David’s Little Britain co-star, Matt Lucas, admitted that they couldn’t get away with certain aspects of their TV series, which ran from 2003 until 2006.
Speaking to the Big Issue, Matt confessed at the time that it would be “very hard to play characters of other races now”, adding: “Society has moved on a lot since then and my own views have evolved.
“Now I think it’s lazy for white people to get a laugh just by playing black characters.”
Earlier this week David was also criticised by fans for posting a photo of himself kissing a dolphin in captivity.
The star, who is an open animal-lover, was branded “cruel” and “ignorant” for posing for the picture whilst on holiday with his mother in Dubai.
Yahoo Celeb UK have contacted David’s reps for comment.
