Davina McCall lauded for sensitive hosting on My Mum, Your Dad as contestant shares emotional bombshell


Viewers of My Mum, Your Dad have praised Maria for her courage and lauded Davina McCall's presenting prowess after the 51 year old disclosed the cause of her marriage breakdown.

Maria, mother to 19 year old Liv, shared that her marriage ended when her husband revealed he was gay.

Liv discovered the reason for her parents' separation a year later, stating she was "never angry" with her father, though she acknowledged the challenge in adjusting to the new family dynamic.

The emotional exchange left fellow contestants moved as they listened to Maria's heartfelt revelation.

"I didn't feel like a wife to someone," Maria confided during the poignant conversation. "And then it came out", reports the Express.

"He's gay, and living a lie, really."

Davina offered comforting words, telling her: "We're all the same. We just want a meaningful connection with someone to live out our lives with."

Liv expressed surprise, noting that only three of her friends were privy to the family secret until now.

Nonetheless, she expressed happiness at seeing her mother come to terms with their past, which changed when Liv was just 12 years old.

Social media has been abuzz with fans commending Davina for her hosting finesse and applauding Maria for openly discussing the conclusion of her marriage.
