There will be a packed out Boiler Shop this weekend as much buzzed about daytime clubbing event Day Fever finally arrives in Newcastle, after tickets for it sold out months ago.

Started by Line of Duty and Trigger Point star Vicky McClure and actor and producer husband Jonny Owen, Day Fever is the afternoon party that has taken the UK by storm over the last few months, with revellers in the likes of Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham having an absolute ball at what is being billed as the country's first ever 'nationwide daytime disco.'

News of the first one in Newcastle was broken by ChronicleLive back in February, with tickets for it being snapped up in just over an hour and on Sunday, after all the build up, it will be time for a crowd of hundreds to get their dancing shoes on and prove just why nowhere parties quite like Newcastle.

Swapping the explosives uniform of her Trigger point character Lana Washington for something much more comfortable, Vicky will be at Boiler Shop alongside Jonny and other members of the Day Fever team and, in an extra quintessentially Geordie treat for Newcastle, Greggs will also be in attendance to provide the scran!

And, ahead of doors opening at 3pm on May 26, there are a few humorous rules set down for the event. All patrons are asked to refrain from:

  • Being under 30 years of age.

  • Petting on the dancefloor (unless it’s in the smooch/slow section).

  • Pushing, Running and Bombing.

  • Acrobatics or Gymnastics (vigorous dancing is encouraged instead)

Given the popularity of Sunday's event, before it has already happened, a second Day Fever has already been announced for Newcastle on Saturday, July 20, with tickets for it too selling out at lightning speed.
