Daytime Emmys 2019: Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and The Young and the Restless lead the nominees

The 2019 Daytime Emmy nominations have been announced – and fan favourite Days of Our Lives is leading the pack with 27, including Outstanding Drama Series Outstanding Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and several Supportive Actor and Actresses nominations.

General Hospital follows with 25 nominations this year, while The Young and the Restless comes third with 20.

Rounding out the top four is The Bold and the Beautiful, another soap opera, which picked up 12 nominations this year.

The 46th annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, 5 May in Pasadena, California.

With the Daytime Emmys, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognises “outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production” for programmes that air between 2 and 6pm.
