Dead Body Found On Children’s Climbing Frame At Seaside Resort

A major investigation has been launched after a dead body was found in a children’s park on a climbing frame.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

Residents in the seaside resort in Torquay, Devon, were awoken on Sunday morning as police arrived on the scene.

The Cary Park play area has been covered in tarpaulinsas as forensic detectives examine the scene.

Officers are on the hunt for a group of young men – aged between 18 and 22 –who were seen in the area in the early hours.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: “A person has been found deceased in the park overnight.

"It is currently being treated as an unexplained death.

"We are very keen to speak to a group of young lads, who are thought to be aged between 18 and 22 who were in the area at around 2am."

The Torquay Herald Express reports that the park has now been reopened.

DS Mark Eggar of Torquay CID, told the paper: "We received a good response from members of the public following our appeal and we are now actively following a number of enquiries.

"Cary Park has since reopened to the public.”
