Dead Man Wakes Up In Morgue Moments Before His Own Autopsy

A man who had apparently died woke up inside a morgue just moments before his autopsy was about to begin.

The man had been declared dead by a doctor after he was found at a bus station in Mumbai, India, and was taken to a nearby hospital.

But the 45-year-old shocked staff when they noticed his supposed corpse breathing inside the morgue, according to the Daily Mail.

Lokmanya Tilak General Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Rohan Rohekar is reported to have earlier told staff to take the body directly to the morgue - which is against hospital policy.

Senior Police Inspector Yeshudas Gorde said: “It is a serious case of negligence by the doctor.

“We were shocked to find patient was alive after he had been declared dead.

“We have written to the dean of Sion Hospital, asking him to conduct an inquiry and give us the report.”

Hospital rules state that bodies are meant to be held in casualty for two hours in case there is any chance of reviving them.
