Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene has signed for EFL Championship side Hull City on a permanent deal, both clubs have announced during the final hour of Deadline Day.

Following impressive performances in pre-season, Unai Emery was eager to keep hold of Philogene as a utility option on the flanks but the 21-year-old had other ideas.

After making his desire for regular first-team football crystal clear, Villa accepted an offer from Hull for the former England U20 international’s services last week.

It’s taken a number of days for the deal to officially get over the line with both teams wrapping up other business but Philogene has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at MKM Stadium.

The fee is undisclosed but it has been widely reported that the bid from the Tigers was in the region of £5 million. Philogene makes a return to the Championship under the management of Liam Rosenior.
