Deadly Storm Rips off Section of Roof in Sydney's Northern Beaches

At least one person was killed and two were severely injured when a severe storm struck Sydney’s Northern Beaches in New South Wales, on Sunday, December 19, police said.

The sudden and intense storm felled trees, severely damaged properties, and caused power outages and road closures, the Northern Beaches Council said.

The Northern Beaches Rural Fire District launched recovery and cleanup efforts on Sunday and Monday.

“Local and out of area RFS crews joined other emergency services crews to respond to reports of trees down, roofs blown off, wires down and many other storm related jobs. Crews worked into the night and will be back out today to continue the clean up,” the fire district wrote on Facebook.
