Deadly Storms Prompt Rescues and Evacuations in Chile
Severe storms killed at least two people and damaged hundreds of homes in southern Chile on Thursday, August 1.
The Chilean National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (SENAPRED) reported two people were killed during the storms, and two more were missing.
Hundreds of homes were damaged, with reports roofs had been blown off buildings.
Local media reported evacuations were carried out in Concepcion due to the threat of the Andalien River overflowing.
