Has Deadpool 2 added another new cast member?

Deadpool 2 might have added one of Hollywood's youngest rising stars to its cast – either that, or we're just being screwed with.

Ryan Reynolds uploaded a photo of himself in full Deadpool outfit to his Instagram page, with Hunt for the Wilderpeople star Julian Dennison on his back.

"Giving Julian Dennison a warm welcome as we stare off into our beautiful future together," he captioned.

Dennison also uploaded the picture, captioning it: "ANNOUNCMENT: Next film in the making."

So, we can call this officially confirmed and all go home, right? Well, we're not so sure.

When it comes to Deadpool, it's all about going against expectation and being as meta as possible.

And this photo is quite meta, with Deadpool (not Reynolds) admitting in an interview last year that Hunt for the Wilderpeople was his favourite film of 2016, which makes us think this photo could just be a nod to the pair's shared love of hip-hop.

Wilderpeople (and Thor: Ragnarok) director Taika Waititi shared the photo, but he didn't confirm the casting either – does anyone actually know what's going on?

We do know for sure that Josh Brolin will be starring as Cable, and he's getting absolutely jacked.

Jack Kesy has signed up to play the film's next big villain, while Atlanta star Zazie Beetz is on board as the powerful mutant Domino too.
