Just about a month on from finally seeing some actual footage from Deadpool 2 (albeit briefly, alongside Mr Pool's Bob Ross impression), Ryan Reynolds is back to sharing slightly bizarre but also incredibly brilliant teaser photos ahead of the film's release.

And the latest image is an actual work of art.

No, really:

Some might call this creation a masterpiece, but to me it’s just well hung art to be shared with the world.

"Some might call this creation a masterpiece, but to me it's just well hung art to be shared with the world," Reynolds captioned his latest Instagram post, which shows Deadpool and Josh Brolin's Cable getting in touch with their biblical sides.

It's over on Twitter where things get really interesting though, as the picture – a re-enactment of Michelangelo's Creation of Adam painting, if you were wondering – is just that little bit wider, and you can see it offers a fitting tagline too: 'The Second Coming.'

As for what Deadpool's been getting up to in Disneyland too? Well, it's probably better not to dig into that one too much.

Apparently you can’t actually blow the Matterhorn.

The new pictures follow on from the last work of art we were given in promotion of the Merc with the Mouth's sequel film, as Deadpool, Cable, Domino (Zazie Beetz) and the rest of the gang all gathered around the table to celebrate a very festive Thanksgiving together.

Deadpool 2 will see Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson team up with his long-time comic book allies – time-travelling mercenary Cable and luck-altering Domino, who's already looking pretty comfortable on Deadpool's turf.

Also returning to the film are Morena Baccarin, TJ Miller, Leslie Uggams and Brianna Hildebrand, and helming the project is John Wick and Atomic Blonde director David Leitch.

Deadpool 2 will be released on June 1, 2018.
