Deadpool 2's release date has been set

From Digital Spy

We've known for some time now that Deadpool 2 is on the way, but it's only now that we have some more information on when the film will be heading to a cinema screen near us.

So, as pointed out over on Deadline, we can now set our sights on June 1st, 2018 – as that's when the sequel to the Ryan Reynolds-starring antihero flick will come bounding into our lives.

It's unclear right now whether that date is just the US release, or is aligned as a UK release too, so Digital Spy has reached out to 20th Century Fox to see if we can find out specifics on international debut dates.

Ryan Reynolds spent years trying to get studios to create a standalone Deadpool film made, until eventually the Merc with the Mouth got his shot at the big screen.

And that shot paid off, seeing as Deadpool soon became the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.

Other recent news about Deadpool 2 came in the form of news on a duo of actors joining the cast list, so we now know that Zazie Beetz is to play Domino and Josh Brolin will star as Cable

It was Brolin's fun Instagram snap of himself getting fitted for a Cable mask that led to some banter between him and Ryan Reynolds. OH YOU GUYS.
