A game show contestant has spoken out after claiming to have had the unluckiest run at Deal or No Deal in the show's history. Kelly Gordon, from Birmingham, saw her episode played out on ITV this week.

The entrepreneur was hoping to grab the £100,000 prize to put towards her business. But fate was not on her side, despite Kelly being assigned the number 12 box - the one she predicted she would receive.

Kelly, who uses a wheelchair, said: "As a business owner who wants real change and doesn't want to wait for that change, I sat wondering, how can I raise £100k for my business so that we can start to see the change for me and other disabled people in the world?

"For me, things won't change and we won't see impact until the media and advertising agencies change the way they think about and market disability and Disabled people. Almost instantly I was then served an advertisement for applications for Deal or No Deal Season 2 where the grand prize was 100k. It felt fated.

"That, along with the fact that I predicted the box that I would be assigned at random, I was absolutely sure I was destined to be the grand prize winner on Deal or No Deal. Little did I know that the universe had something completely different in store for me... and I am still not sure what that is!"

As an entrepreneur and ex-CEO of UK Football Club, and owner of a successful sports concierge business representing some of the world's top professional football players, Kelly faced negative perceptions and had to fight for her right to be at the board room table. This led to internal struggles, internalised ableism and not feeling good enough for the majority of her career.

Kelly and her business partner Emma decided to change and challenge this by starting their company, With Not For. The company hopes to change attitudes and stereotypes towards disabled people and their place within the world by working with advertising and media agencies to change the way they are viewed.

With Not For has shot to success with clients under their belts such as Guinness, Six Nations Rugby and advertising agencies such as VCCP, OGILVY, and VML. However, their growth has been organic. Kelly is desperately seeking funding so that her dream can become a reality and so that no one else has to feel the way she did throughout her career.

She was lucky enough to be selected as one of the lucky few to play Deal or No Deal and is recorded in the studio with her husband, Josh. Kelly says that she had one of the worst games of Deal or No Deal history, leaving the audience and host Steven Mulhern utterly gobsmacked.

Kelly believed that it was fated that she would be the winner of the grand 100k prize as she had previously written the number 12 on a piece of paper as the box she would draw at random and then subsequently draw that box at the start of her episode. She was left with the £100k still in play for the majority of her game, but heartbreak ensued when Kelly revealed the £100k box, leaving her with a board of mostly blue boxes.

Kelly broke down in tears in the emotional episode. But despite that, Kelly is convinced that her appearance happened for a reason and that there is a bigger meaning and significance to box 12 and what happened on that day.
