A drug dealer has been jailed for selling class A drugs in Surrey. Reece Mitchell was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday, November 27. The 20-year-old, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two counts possession with the intent supply class A drugs (namely crack cocaine and heroin).

Surrey Police's investigation began in May when officers out on proactive patrol in Epsom and saw him acting suspiciously. He was subsequently stopped and searched where a large amount of cash, wraps of crack cocaine and heroin and a burner phone, were all found.

In interview with officers, Mitchell tellingly said he came to Surrey as ‘it’s a nice place to sell drugs’ and he claimed he could have made £5000 from the seized drugs. PS Adam Staplehurst of the Epsom and Ewell Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Instead of £5,000, Mitchell earned himself two years in prison for these Surrey offences. Drugs can have a hugely detrimental impact on the local community and if you come to Surrey to deal drugs, we will pursue you and bring you to justice.”
