Who is Dean McCullough? I'm A Celebrity sign up BBC radio host for ITV show

He might be one of the lesser known stars doing the show this year, but Dean McCullough is being tipped as a 'potential' dark horse on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and was right at the centre of the action at the end of Saturday's episode.

After loads of rumours about who might be doing the ITV show this year and a list of contestants 'leaking' online at the start of the month, the I'm A Celebrity 2024 line-up was officially confirmed on Monday, November 17, ahead of this year's launch episode at 9pm on November 17.

While stars like Coleen Rooney, Tulisa and ex Strictly pro Oti Mabuse had been linked to the show for months, radio presenter Dean was one of the last names to put be in the frame for stint in the Australian jungle, with him emerging as potential campmate at the same time that sources claimed Rev Richard Coles had been signed up. And, although he wasn't alongside Dean on the line-up, he has now gone into the jungle as one of two I'm a Celebrity late arrivals for the new series, alongside Maura Higgins

I'm A Celebrity continued its new series on Saturday night and a clip that aired right at the start showed Dean embroiled in a heated discussion with co-star Alan Halsall.

Who is Dean McCullough on I'm A Celebrity?

Irish star Dean is best known for being a presenter on BBC Radio 1, with him also being a regular on Big Brother's sister show Late & Live. Over the summer, Dean announced his own live show, Dean's Pop Machine. Described as 'all bangers no clangers pure nostalgic fun,' Dean launched it to a large crowd at Manchester Pride 2024.

Prior to going into the I'm A Celebrity jungle, to join stars like GK Barry and Alan Halsall, Dean revealed he was determined to cure his 'phobias of everything', commenting: "I am terrified of everything and the more I think about being put in the ground with 50 snakes or getting those green fly things that bite poured over me – well there's just no point thinking about it, as otherwise I won’t get on the plane!

“When Ant & Dec say things like, ‘We are going to suspend you off the side of that cliff’, you know it is not going to be a fun day out. It’s no Alton Towers – it will be torturous."
