Brentford boss Dean Smith bemoaned his side’s luck after they conceded a 98th-minute equaliser to Bristol City in a 2-2 draw at Griffin Park last night.

Smith claimed it was “the most one‑sided Championship game” he had been involved in and insisted his side are not getting the rewards their football deserves.

After narrow losses to Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest, Smith added: “We are definitely running cold in the luck department. They are a good team but we looked a class above. If we play like that we are a top-six team.”

The Bees fell behind in the fifth minute but fought back through an Ollie Watkins header and a Neal Maupay strike before Bobby Reid snatched a draw in the eighth minute of added time after lengthy treatment on what looked like a serious injury to Brentford’s Josh McEachran.

“I’m disappointed,” said Smith (above). “We are not getting what we deserve but if we keep playing like that we will.”
