Death Gun Salute to Queen Elizabeth Held at Edinburgh Castle

A 96-gun salute was held at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland on Friday, September 9, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

One shot was fired for each year of the queen’s life. She died at Balmoral on September 8 after reigning for 70 years.

As well as in Edinburgh, salutes were held in London at Hyde Park and the Tower of London, and at other locations across the United Kingdom, as well as on Royal Navy ships at sea.
