Death on the Nile release is pushed back to 2020

From Digital Spy

Looks like we'll have to wait a fair while longer to see the return of Kenneth Branagh's ridiculous double moustache and shitmazing accent.

It's been reported by Deadline that Death on the Nile, the second big-screen and star-studded Agatha Christie adaptation directed by and starring Branagh, has had quite the release date change.

Previously due to release on December 20, 2019, it will now arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2020.

This isn't the first time the film has been pushed back, with it being originally pencilled in for a November 2019 release. Its first move put it in direct competition with Star Wars: Episode IX, and while Solo: A Star Wars Story had disappointing returns, Disney's December Star Wars releases have done incredibly well financially.

The publication also states that Vanity Fair actor Tom Bateman will reprise his role of Bouc from Murder on the Orient Express, which is nice.

Express boasted a stellar cast of Dame Judi Dench, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad, Willem Dafoe, Derek Jacobi and Olivia Colman. Names haven't started to drop for the sequel just yet, but Gal Gadot was reported to be very close to singing on the dotted line for a pivotal role.

Death on the Nile will feature the classic Christie tropes of murder, an affair, scandalous secrets and, after the events of the last film, possibly a more bitter Hercule Poirot.

Death on the Nile is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2020.
