Note: This article contains spoilers for Death in Paradise series 9, episode 2.
Death in Paradise may be preparing to say goodbye to its lead character as Ardal O'Hanlon bows out as DI Jack Mooney later this series, but tonight's episode featured the return of a familiar face for longterm viewers.
Sadly, we didn't get to see the surprise re-appearance of Josephine Jobert as Florence Cassell or even Danny John-Jules as Officer Dwayne Myers, but we were treated to the return of none other than Harry the lizard, much to audiences' delight.
Harry's been a stalwart on the series, appearing in the very first episode back when Ben Miller's DI Richard Poole was in charge of things, and has become a familiar presence on the show ever since.
In tonight's (January 16) episode, Harry made his reappearance as Jack was weighing up whether it was time for him to move on with new arrival Anna (Nina Wadia) following the death of his wife.
"You having any women problems yourself, Harry?" Jack asked the lizard. "Lucky you."
And viewers were definitely happy to see Harry back on screens:

Meanwhile, tonight's episode also featured a character that Peep Show viewers will recognise too, as Matt King – aka Super Hans – featured as an art buyer named Terry who soon proved a person of interest in Saint Marie's latest murder case.
In the end it was Sandrine Lamore (Vivienne Acheampong) who killed artist Donna (Sherlock's Louise Brealey) by giving her a lethal dose of cyanide after knocking her out with chloroform first.
But viewers were more interested in Terry's story, convinced he was actually Super Hans in disguise, revealing what he's been up to since Peep Show ended back in 2015.
Death in Paradise continues next Thursday (January 23) at 9pm on BBC One.
