Death Toll Rises After Heavy Rain Brings Severe Flooding to Italy's Adriatic Coast

At least 10 people were dead and four missing after heavy rain brought intense flooding to Italy’s Marche region, local media said on September 16.

This video was filmed by Twitter user @alecerio, who said it shows flooding in the town of Senigallia.

The Misa River flowing through Senigallia reached a peak early on Friday morning, and was slowly receding, the local municipality said.

An orange alert issued on Thursday remained in place for parts of western and southern Italy on Friday, including the Campania and Lazio regions, as rain and strong winds were expected to continue through to the afternoon. Credit: @alecerio via Storyful
