Debbie McGee To Honour Late Husband Paul Daniels By Waltzing On Strictly Come Dancing

Paul Daniels’ widow wants to compete in his memory on Strictly Come Dancing – as he waltzed on the show six years ago.

The magician was partnered with Ola Jordan on the BBC1 contest and McGee already has the backing of Strictly’s pro-dancers Kevin and Karen Clifton, who believe she would be a crowd pleaser in the upcoming series.

McGee, 57, below with Daniels, told The Sun: “Paul was on Strictly Come Dancing and that’s something I’d just love to do in his memory.

“I’m getting my agent to ring them. I’ve written it on my list of things to get… I would love to do it. “In my life with Paul we always pushed for work. We loved working and loved showbusiness.”

Daniels, 77, competing in Strictly below, died at home in March shortly after he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. The couple had been married for 28 years and the trickster was rarely seen without his devoted wife by his side.

McGee added she feels that signing up for Strictly would help her through the grieving process and establish her as a star in her own right.

She added: “I want to get through painful time of grief. Because I lost dad 18 months ago I kind of understand the grieving process so I’m allowing myself to do that.

“When I come out the other end and ready there is loads of work I want push for.”
