This morning Debenhams dropped its latest Christmas advert, which follows the tale of a modern-day Cinderella.
It was unveiled on the same morning as John Lewis’s new Moz The Monster ad: the story of a little boy named Joe who is kept awake by an imaginary monster called Moz.
The ‘#YouShall Find Your Fairytale’ advert focuses on a beautiful young lady called Ellie, who locks eyes with a charming man named Josh on a train.
Before the pair can exchange numbers, Ellie leaves the train for her stop - and leaves behind one of her sparkly new stilettos.
In an attempt to find his princess, Josh uses Twitter to #FindThatGirl. Ellie also seeks help from Twitter users to ##FindMyShoe.
After social media fails to reunite the pair, fate works its magic: the characters bump into each other in the street and celebrate with a romantic kiss.
There is also a cameo appearance by Ewan McGregor, who plays a significant role in the happy ending.
The ad, which is created by J. Walter Thompson London, encourages shoppers to find their fairytale Christmas.
