Debris hurled 40 feet into the air as Indian police detonate two bombs under road

Two bombs were detonated in eastern India by police after being discovered buried under a road. The two devices, weighing 40kg, were discovered and detonated by police near Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand after reportedly being planted by an ultra-left group. According to security personnel on the scene, the bombs were planted too deeply to be removed so a bomb disposal squad defused the bombs safely. Smoke and debris released from the blast rose nearly 40 feet and destroyed a part of a nearby road. The joint operation was conducted by state police and Central Reserve Protection Force.
