Debris Litters Street After Deadly Hotel Construction Collapse in New Orleans

At least one person was killed in the partial collapse of the under-construction Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 12, Governor John Bel Edwards said in a press conference.

Fire officials said several people were missing and one person was confirmed dead after the upper six to seven floors of the building collapsed. New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent Chief Tim McConnell said buildings in the area were being evacuated and warned that due to the structure’s instability, further collapse was possible.
