Debris Rains Down on Park as Strikes Hit Shopping Mall in Ukraine

Security cameras captured debris raining down onto a public park in Kremenchuk, Ukraine, on Monday, June 27, as missiles struck the nearby Amstor shopping center, killing at least 18 people and injuring many others.

The footage, which was released on Tuesday by the park’s director, Vitaliy Dedyurin, shows people diving for cover as a shockwave from the first strike caused the ground to shake.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that hundreds of people were inside the shopping mall at the time of the attack. He said the site had no strategic value and presented no threat to Russian forces.

On Tuesday, Poltava’s governor Dmitry Lunin said 18 people had been killed and 36 were missing or unaccounted for. Credit: City Garden/Vitaliy Dedyurin via Storyful
