Decision announced on plans for Chelmsley Wood restaurant and bar
A Chelmsley Wood restaurant and bar has been given the green light for a new games room. Rumours Bar and Grill, the Indian restaurant and bar, originally applied for permission to Solihull Council in July.
The application was for a single storey extension on the premises for the new room in Saxon Way. Few details about what might feature in the games room were included in the application.
Solihull Council held a consultation in September before granting permission last Friday, November 22. In the published decision on the authority's website council officers write: “The local planning authority has worked positively and proactively with the applicant during the application process to check and/or identify any required solutions to ensure the proposal is sustainable development and improves the economic, social and environmental conditions of the area.”

Meanwhile the conversion of an office into a home has taken a step forward. Solihull planners previously gave the go-ahead for the former office building in Land Lane to be converted to a four-bedroom home with a detached dwelling which would be newly built.
Granting permission, in 2020, officers wrote: “It is unlikely that the development proposals will generate a significant increase in vehicle trips or demand for parking compared to the existing office uses. The overall planning balance must be in favour for this proposal.”
In March applicant Mr Randhawa applied to sign off a preparatory condition which featured in the original planning permission agreement. The application to formally ‘discharge’ condition four (written scheme of investigation) was submitted to the authority.
And Solihull planners signed off the condition on November 18.
