An important decision has been made on the plans of a growing firm to create dozens of new jobs in a Nottinghamshire town. Marketing business Linney Group has been given permission to expand its large office and warehouse complex in Mansfield with a new addition on Bellamy Road that it predicts will create more than 60 jobs.

Mansfield District Council gave permission for the business to replace what it referred to as an "aging" concrete warehouse with a "bespoke warehouse" on Thursday, September 5. The new building would "refresh and enhance the quality and quantity" of jobs for locals, according to planning documents submitted by the firm, with the current six full-time roles on the site increasing to 75.

The company explained the old building was no longer fit for purpose and that its replacement would allow it to remain in Mansfield, as the extra capacity would help it attract national clients and cope with increasing demand. In planning documents Linney Group's planners said: "In addition to the employment benefits, the development will continue to retain Linney as a key contributor to the local economy by expanding its facilities and attracting national clients to the area.

"The development will provide a high quality working environment for staff." The ground floor will compromise a reception area, employee changing facilities, and offices that would be connected into the warehouse and loading bays.

The typical machinery used inside of the warehouse will be robot gluers, tapers, and collators, according to planning documents. The site will continue to be accessed from Bellamy Road and 127 car parking spaces will be created as part of the development.
