Across Scandinavia a nursery or kids room isn't just a a dumping ground for toys and clothes, but also a space that gets a fair bit of attention when it comes to its decor.

Many parents are creating spaces that aren't only calm and relaxing in their aesthetic but also gender neutral, allowing their little ones to grow up and develop without the influence of gender stereotypes.

If you want to create a Scandinavian styled children's room go for a neutral colour pallet and some classic furniture to create a space that can adapt and evolve as they grown up. Colourful and personal accessories such as textiles and prints can be easily updated to suit personal style and refreshed as your little ones grow bigger.

A great tip is to invest in some classic toys which won't only look great on display but also last a lifetime, allowing them to be passed down to the next generation. Of course a child's room won't always look picture perfect but that's part of the charm of a great kid's room.
