Deep fried crème eggs are now a thing (again)

As we all know Easter is just around the corner, and that means one thing and one thing only: chocolate.

To celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and all thing hopping bunny galore, food delivery giant Deliveroo has teamed up with chicken legends Mother Clucker to bring us fine Londoners the most indulgent and dangerously calorific Easter egg in town – the deep fried crème egg.

Holy moly. Our reaction exactly.

The eggmificent creation is made by rolling your average crème egg into spiced flour and buttermilk and is then placed into a deep frying machine (exactly the same one they use to deep fry their legendary chicken strips) for a couple of minutes et voilà: the genius creation is born.

Can’t imagine what it tastes like? Think spicy, chocolatey, crispy fried magic – well, that’s what the team at Mother Clucker say anyway.

Two hundred of the fat covered eggs will be available from March 26 and are available to those who live within a two mile radius of Mother Clucker.

If you get one, tweet us at @esgolondon and tell us what you thought.

Mother Clucker's deep fried creme eggs are available via the Deliveroo app from March 26.
