Deer Knocks Over Cyclist During New Jersey Charity Ride

Mounted camera footage shows the moment a cyclist was struck by a deer three miles into a 26-mile charity cycle ride in Lumberton, New Jersey, on September 12.

Newark resident Keith Bratcher Jr was taking part in the Wise Choice Cycling Club’s Auto Immune Disease Awareness Ride when his camera captured video showing an unfortunate incident involving a deer.

Bratcher Jr’s footage shows the moment the deer jumps onto the road and directly into the group of riders, knocking one cyclist to the ground. Meanwhile, the deer flips as it flies through the air before it lands into a field on the other side of the road.

Bratcher Jr said the rider was uninjured during incident and was able to complete the cycle. Credit: Keith Bratcher Jr via Storyful
