Deer Runs Through Indiana Grocery Store

While shopping with her family in a Kroger grocery store in Zionsville, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis, on February 15, Brigitte Dan spotted some unusually fresh venison by the deli counter.

Dan told Storyful that when she first saw the deer darting toward her in the store, she thought it was a German shepherd.

Just before this video was shot, Dan said, the deer was being detained in a section of the store by employees. Dan pushed her two kids out of the way just in time, as she told Storyful that the deer “jumped over the meat glass counter and hurt itself. Its nose was bleeding.”

After staff and police involvement, the deer safely exited the store through the front on its own accord, as it had come in.

Dan added that while her son was very excited by the deer, her daughter “was very scared.” Credit: Brigitte Dan via Storyful
