Derby County have dipped into the free agent market and signed defender Ryan Nyambe on a deal until January 2024.

The 25-year-old has over 250 career appearances for a number of clubs including Blackburn Rovers and more recently Wigan Athletic.

The Namibian international has joined Derby with a view to extend his contract following the expiration in January.

He will be added to the Rams defence in place of a number of injured options such as Jake Rooney and Joe Ward.

Nyambe has 10 career goals and was a mainstay in the first teams of both Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic.

He has made appearances for Namibia in both World Cup qualifiers and the African Cup of Nations.
