Delays on railway line to Cambridgeshire city after flooding

Trains are being delayed and cancelled after flooding on a railway line near Cambridgeshire. Service between Biggleswade and Peterborough are affected - with disruption set to continue until around 6pm.

The flooding has taken place near Sandy Railway station in Bedfordshire. Passengers are being advised on alternative routes.

"Heavy rain has flooded the railway between Biggleswade and Peterborough. Trains running between these stations will need to run at a reduced speed on all lines and as a result, services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 18:00.

"Flooding has affected the section of track near Sandy station. Trains will not call at Sandy in the direction of Peterborough. If you require this station, you will need to continue your travel on to St Neots, and catch a return service in the direction of London.

Your journey will be extended by at least 15 minutes, especially if you need to change services.
