Delays on Stoke-on-Trent road as major gas works underway
Motorists are facing delays on a key road leading to the A50 as works got underway. Temporary lights have gone up on Meir's Sandon Road this week where gas engineers have been carrying out works.
But the scheme, which is being overseen by Cadent, could go on until October 16. The ongoing project, near the Ryder Road junction, involves replacing old pipes in the neighbourhood.
A description of the scheme on roadworks monitoring site One Network states: "Here at Cadent, we look after the gas pipes in your area. We make sure the pipes that bring the gas to your home keep you safe, warm and connected.

"We’re replacing the old pipes with new plastic ones which will mean that you’ll be ready for greener gas in the future.
"We’ll have to turn off your gas supply during some of our works and may need access to your home, but our teams on site will be on hand to let you know more information."
