Delegates Dance to Bob Marley as UNESCO Recognizes Reggae's World Heritage

Delegates sang and danced after it was announced on November 29 that the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization would inscribe reggae into its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The Jamaican delegation, led by Jamaica’s Minister of Culture, Olivia Grange, thanked UNESCO for the inscription before inviting the room to sing along with Bob Marley’s song One Love.

Georgian wrestling, Jordanian singing and Irish hurling were also inscribed onto UNESCO’s intangible heritage list, along with rituals from Japan and Kazakhstan. Credit: UNESCO via Storyful
