More than a dozen jobs have been created at a new Greggs on Carlton Hill. The British bakery giant has moved into the former Lloyds Bank on the Carlton high street following its closure in July last year.

It opened to the public on Wednesday (September 11), selling all the bakery classics from its popular sausage roll, steak bake to ice drinks including cloudy lemonade and iced mocha, which are only available in limited shops across the UK.

Shop manager Joel Smith said: “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We’ve got an amazing range of iconic savouries, Fairtrade hot drinks, hot food and healthier choices available for takeaway, sit-in or Click + Collect.”

Retail operations director Gillian Long added: “Our new shop in Nottingham has brought 15 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”

Customers can also take advantage of deals throughout the day, including its breakfast combinations, offering a breakfast roll or baguette alongside a Fairtrade orange juice or hot drink - served until 11am every day.

The new Carlton Greggs will also feature the recently launched autumn menu, including the All-Day Breakfast Baguette and Mexican Bean & Spicy Cheese Flatbread. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s the new Pumpkin Spiced Doughnut, a soft doughnut filled with spiced pumpkin flavour, topped off with icing and a caramelised biscuit crumb.

Greggs’ popular Pumpkin Spice Latte and Salted Caramel Latte will also be making a return – both also available over ice - alongside the Orange Mocha and Orange Hot Chocolate. The new menu is available now in stores nationwide, and through the Greggs App and on Just Eat and UberEATS.

Those looking for a bite to eat in the evening can enjoy hot food such as Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, Potato Wedges and a variety of pizza slices including Margherita, Pepperoni, Spicy Mexican Chicken, Spicy Veg and Pepperoni Hot Shot. After 4pm, customers can pick up any pizza slice with any drink from just £2.85 instead of the usual £3.50.

Customers looking to skip the queues and grab a quick bite on the go can order through Click + Collect via the Greggs App. The shop is open from 6am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 5pm every Sunday.

Any further jobs created at the Nottingham shop will be posted on https://www.greggsfamily.co.uk/.

Elsewhere in Nottinghamshire, Greggs has earmarked a new bakery at the Wilford Lane Retail Park in West Bridgford.
