After four years, Fort Paull will reopen its gates.

The "monumental task " was spearheaded by the Two Nicks - business partners Nick Taylor and Nick Moore. After months of hard work to get the heritage site back up to scratch, they have now announced that the fort will reopen with a special car show, something that was a regular event at the site previously.

Fort Paull was originally built back in the 1500s and closed in 2020. However, a lot of hard work means that on September 28 and 29, for the first time in four years, Fort Paull will reopen with a car show - something special to the venue.

Nick Taylor told Hull Live: "We were going to do a bit more of a normal open event, but we've focused on more of a classic American car show, and we're tying that in with us opening, cutting the tie sort of thing. The car show organisers used to come here, and they came here twice a year for 16 years. We spoke to them even before we considered reopening, just to see if they were still interested."

Once it was all signed off that the Two Nicks would be taking on the Fort, a chat with the organisers followed. Nick spoke of the huge effort to get everything ready: "The clean-up has been relentless. This last couple of weeks especially have been 10, 12 hour days just to get everything nailed off."

The fort already has plans moving forward. With a Halloween ghost walk, a Christmas fayre and a 1940's 1940s-themed event in the pipeline, Fort Paull looks set to return to its former glory.

The re-opening event will take place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 29th of September - with the main show day being on the Sunday. There will be food vendors on site, the bar will be open and also the tunnels will be open to explore.
