Deliveroo app and website down for thousands of hungry customers
Deliveroo has confirmed both its website and app are down this afternoon, leaving thousands of hungry customers unable to order lunch. The food delivery service alerted customers on social media to the issue at around 12.15pm today (October 12).
Users trying to place an order see an error screen upon opening the app, with a message stating "something went wrong." The message continued: "An unexpected error occurred".
In a post on X the Deliveroo Help account wrote: "We’re currently experiencing an issue with our app and website, we’re working hard to get back up and running ASAP. Thank you for your patience."

Website DownDetector, where internet users can report issues with websites, suggests users first stated experiencing issued with Deliveroo at around 11.30am. By 11.57am, nearly 2,500 people had reported technical difficulties with the site.
The issue has also left some customers who have already placed orders through the app unable to track their delivery. One person wrote on X: " @Deliveroo is your service down? I keep getting “something went wrong” in the app and cannot track my order."
Another added: "Not the deliveroo app going down but still having the cheek to send me a notification prompting me to come back to the app for it to not work ‘eyeing something?’ WELL I WOULD BE IF I COULD."
Another disappointed customer added they had been waiting an-hour-and-a-half for their food already. "Will people be compensated for this @Deliveroo? I spent £50 and have been waiting 90 minutes."
