Deluge Floods Texas's Rio Grande Valley

Heavy rainfall on Monday, June 24, created flood conditions in Hidalgo County, Texas, that the National Weather Service said could persist until Wednesday.

Greg Diamond of the Weather Channel said 8-13 inches of rain fell in less than 12 hours, in a region that normally gets 20-25 inches in an entire year.

The Valley Morning Star reported that dozens of roads were closed in the Rio Grande Valley as flash floods made them impassable.
