Demi Lovato has come out as non-binary and announced they're changing their pronouns to they/them.

The singer shared the news to their 55 million Twitter followers on Wednesday, May 19 with a clip of their new podcast series 4D with Demi Lovato. In this new series, they set out to explore the non-binary identity with a variety of guests and have conversations that "transcend the typical discourse."

"I want to take this moment to share something very personal with you," Demi said in the video.

"Over the past year and a half, I have been doing some healing and self-reflective work, and through this work, I have had the revelation that I identify as non-binary.

"With that said, I will officially be changing my pronouns to they/them. I feel this best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and still am discovering."

They continued the Twitter thread adding: "I don't claim to be an expert or a spokesperson. Sharing this with you now opens another level of vulnerability for me.

"I'm doing this for those out there that haven't been able to share who they truly are with their loved ones. Please keep living in your truths & know I am sending so much love your way xox."

They ended the thread thanking fans for the outpouring of love and support.

The singer previously revealed they were queer in their revelatory YouTube documentary Dancing With The Devil, and came out as pansexual (someone who is attracted to people regardless of their sex or gender identity) last March while appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
