Demi Lovato and Jutes in no rush to marry
Demi Lovato and Jutes won't rush into getting married.
The couple got engaged in December 2023 and are taking time to enjoy this stage in their relationship because they don't want to add too much pressure by speeding up the planning process for their big day.
Jutes - whose real name is Jordan Lutes - told People magazine: "We're not trying to stress ourselves out. I feel like a lot of weddings can be stressful and very quick, and so we're on it, but we're also taking our time, and we're also just enjoying being engaged.
"We're not trying to skip engagement to get right to wedding. We're just basking in it and soaking it up. We'll be married forever. We just want to enjoy every step."
The 'Sleepyhead' singer met Demi in the recording studio when he worked with her on her 2022 album 'Holy Fvck' and they both love how "rare" it was for their romance to begin with a platonic friendship.
He said: "[It's] so rare nowadays. I think she even said to her friends, 'it's been a while since I've seen one in the wild' or something like that, because we were just in real life meeting each other.
"It wasn't even like we met up for a date. We were meeting up to write. It was platonic. It was like, 'Let's make some music together. Let's do what we both love to do.' And it was the coolest way to bond with someone and become friends."
And while Jutes knew immediately that the 'Confident' hitmaker was "very special", he was keen to keep their relationship professional and it took some time for things to turn romantic between them.
He said: "I knew she was obviously very special, and I was very surprised with how comfortable and close I felt to her very quickly, but I didn't even consider that it would be more than friends. In my mind I'm like, 'Oh, I'm a songwriter.' It didn't even cross my mind.
"And then I think we wrote a few more songs and we went to some concerts and we started talking more and more and more gradually, and then over time we would hang out more, and then one thing led to another.
"I don't know if I admitted it to myself that I was crushing, but I was like, 'Oh, I really like being around this person. This person really gets me. I feel like I know this person already.' It was very easy, and it was nice."
