Demonstrators Take to Buenos Aires Streets to Protest Veto of Pension Increase
Argentinian police used tear gas and water cannons on Buenos Aires demonstrators protesting President Javier Milei’s veto of a pension increase on Wednesday, September 11, local media said.
Footage filmed by Argentinian journalist Ricardo Romero shows heavy police presence near the Congress in Buenos Aires and first responders treating one woman for exposure to tear gas.
On Wednesday, the Lower House of the Argentinian National Congress voted to uphold Milei’s presidential veto of a pension increase that had previously been approved by both chambers.
