Denise Welch may have just come up with the comeback storyline for her own Coronation Street character Natalie Barnes.

Taking a leaf out of Lennie James's book, the actress has teased that she wants to return to the soap to sort out her ownership of Kevin Webster's garage.

Natalie left Weatherfield in 2000 to raise her son away from the cobbles, but technically she still half-owns the garage with her former lover.

Although she may have a tough time getting her hands on it, now it's been burned to ashes and all...

The actress, who joined the soap in 1997 and played the feisty Rovers landlady, was forced to watch alongside viewers as Kevin Webster's garage was burned down after the mechanic got on the wrong side of ultimate sleaze Pat Phelan. Yikes.

And she was enraged at seeing half of her business go up in smoke, so took to Twitter to vent about it.

"Half of thats still belongs to Natalie!!!" the actress said, much to the amusement of fans, who begged Denise to make her long-overdue return to the cobbles.

Oh, Denise! You do tease!

If she did return to the cobbles, the former Loose Woman may be joined by her youngest son, Louis Healy, who reportedly auditioned for a role in the ITV soap back in July. Her other son is busy fronting the British band The 1975, in case you didn't know.

Coronation Street airs weekdays on ITV.
