They might be rivals when it comes to pulling in viewers or if they're up against one another at the various soap and TV awards, but this bunch of soap stars are the best of friends when they're not representing their respective shows...

Taking to Instagram on Thursday (June 17), Denise Welch – who currently plays Trish Minniver in Hollyoaks, but has appeared in both Coronation Street and EastEnders in the past – posted a sweet video of herself and current colleague Nikki Sanderson enjoying the sunshine with Corrie's Angela Lonsdale, Sally Dynevor and Jane Danson.

"Not quite lunch on the cobbles but on the paving stones!!! Friends for 24 yrs (30 for Ang and me) and still never a pause for breath!! Gorgeous day," she wrote in the caption, before tagging the venue, The Church Inn Mobberley.

Plenty of fans loved the real life soap crossover and made it known in the comments section.

"Ah that's lovely. Quite the cast there, Denise," one fan replied, as another added: "So nice to see you all together."

"Omg of course! I keep forgetting u played Natalie Barnes back in the day!" another wrote.

Between 1998 and 2000, Welch portrayed Natalie, the landlady of the Rovers Return who stirred up trouble when she had an affair with Kevin Webster, the husband of Dynevor's character Sally.

During her stint on the show, she also shared the small screen with Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, and Lonsdale, who starred as police officer Emma Taylor.

Sanderson is no stranger to Weatherfield either, having appeared as Sarah Platt's bestie Candice Stowe from 1999 to 2005. Now, she plays Trish's daughter Maxine in Hollyoaks.

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. Coronation Street airs on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week on ITV.
