Dominic Solanke netted a sublime brace as England Under-21s secured a comprehensive 5-1 victory against Denmark at the Blue Water Arena.

The Liverpool striker continued from where he left off after scoring both goals in the 2-1 win over Italy Under-21s on Friday with another double, including a stunning backheeled finish to kill the game.

England coach Aidy Boothroyd made four changes as he experimented with his line-up but it didn't seem to do any harm as his side went in front.

Kyle Walker-Peters went down the right-hand side and found Kieran Dowell, who fed in the excellent Phil Foden. He turned past a defender and played a superb pass into the feet of Demarai Gray, who tucked home under Denmark goalkeeper Daniel Iversen.

It wasn't long before England doubled their advantage. Dowell once again went marauding down the right, delivering an inviting cross into the area and there was Solanke completely unmarked to head into the corner.

Just seconds later, Denmark got one back when Kasper Nissen played in Marcus Ingvartsen with a brilliant pass and the striker coolly slotted past Dean Henderson.

Solanke got his second two minutes after the interval - and what a goal it was. Foden's shot was spilled by Iversen and the striker pounced on the loose ball, before playing a brilliant backheel over the goalkeeper and into the net.

England were suddenly rampant and substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin tucked home a late fourth after some fine work from Reiss Nelson down the right.

There was still time for a fifth as Calvert-Lewin grabbed his second from the penalty spot with three minutes to go, firing into the top corner to secure another impressive victory and maintain their incredible 22-game unbeaten run.
