Deputies rescued a kitten that was trapped inside the engine compartment of a car in Yorktown, Virginia, on Saturday, November 13.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said it took thirty minutes to free the kitten, requiring the help of deputies, civilians, and “a lot of patience.” The sheriff’s office said the kitten was taken to an emergency vet and was later adopted by a police dispatcher, who named her Winnie.
