Derby road closed after man falls from bridge near railway station
Derbyshire police have explained why a busy city road was closed for a number of hours over the weekend. Officers were called to reports of concern for a man's safety after he had fallen from a bridge in Station Approach, Derby, just after 11am on Saturday (November 23).
The road, which runs beneath the A6 Pride Parkway near Derby Railway Station, was closed while emergency services attended the scene. Derbyshire police say the man was taken to hospital for treatment, however his injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called to report a concern for safety of a man who had fallen from a bridge in Station Approach, Derby, just after 11.05am on Saturday, November 23. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

"His injuries though serious are not understood to be life threatening. A closure was put in a place whilst emergency services attended to the man.”
