A festive 5k that will see hundreds of bearded Derby folk running around one of the city's largest and most popular parks is set to return for another year of fun. The Derby Santa run provides a great opportunity for walkers, joggers and runners around Derby to gather and shed some calories ahead of the glutenous festive period.

Taking place at Markeaton Park, the course is "perfect" for everyone, according to organisers, with a host of entertainment set to coincide with the 5k - meaning participants and spectators alike can make the most of the day. Taking place on Sunday, December 8, there are still some tickets to spare if you fancy a last-minute slot on the start line.

Each runner that signs up will be given a free Santa suit and beard - set to provide quite the sight - and a finishers medal. Ticket holders will also be able to meet the charity partners on the day and there will be an opportunity to meet and take photos with Lambie, the Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity Mascot.
