Derby's Markeaton Park to host Christmas event with Elf trail, craft fair and live music
A Christmas "extravaganza" with a variety of family-friendly festive activities is returning to one of Derby's most popular parks. The two-day event at Markeaton Park will see a whole host of different activities and entertainment take place to celebrate the Christmas period.
The event is going to feature live music, walkabout characters, a craft fair and a bustling outdoor market. The fair will be hosted at the Markeaton Lane park, from Saturday, November 30 to Sunday, December 1, starting at 11am and closing up at 3pm each day.
While the event will be free to attend there will be some activities that will have charges. The ostentatious Elf trail will allow children and families to explore the picturesque surroundings of Markeaton Park, as they hunt through the woodlands to find the delicately crafted wooden elf houses hidden throughout the park for a chance to enter the prize draw.

If families find all letters and unscramble the festive word they will win a chance to enter the events prize draw, which could land you a ticket for the Cinderella Pantomime at Derby Arena.
There will also be a large range of seasonal craft stalls, with the opportunity for families to buy cards, gifts, decorations and much more. Furthermore, there is also going to be an array of festive food to enjoy from The Orangery.
