Sarah said: "Putting the exhibition on in my hometown was really important to me. We’re still based in Derby, despite a lot of my client base being in London and around the world. This is where I grew up and a lot of the people I grew up with are still around here.
"I’ve known Jay (at Dubrek Studios) for 20 years, maybe more, so the opportunity to bring the two worlds together and celebrate the work I’ve put in over the last 10 years was something I really wanted to do.”
Sarah was working at Royal Derby hospital with patients with dementia before starting her journey as a stylist and hairdresser.
Sarah added: "The journey’s been pretty wild to be honest, it’s kind of hard to take stock when you’re in the middle of everything. I’m always working so most of the time all I’m focussed on is whatever projects I’ve got coming up.
"I started getting back into styling, doing vintage hair styles that were part of my own fashion for ages for friends, with the odd paying customer. Things kind of grew from there, until Dita found my Instagram and invited me to work with her in Milan. There are pictures in the exhibition of that first trip."
Alongside the hair pieces Sarah has also included photos showcasing her work in various magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan, as well as some of her behind the scenes shots with her celebrity clients. Sarah has stated that the exhibition is dedicated to Ashley Finlay, Maurice and Ward 405 at the Royal Derby Hospital.
